We think BBQ baked beans should practically be a requirement every time you barbecue. This is one of our favorite recipes to make year-round, as long as we have our Big Green Egg fired up with some mouthwatering smoked meats.

Part 1:
BBQ Baked Beans

Step 1

In a large Dutch oven, sweat the onion and garlic in the butter over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the remaining ingredients, except for the horseradish and beans.

Step 3

Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer mixture for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning on the bottom of the Dutch oven.

Step 4

Add the horseradish and beans and simmer for an additional 30 minutes over low heat.

Step 5

Once the beans are done, remove the bay leaf and serve with your favorite smoked meats.
